Mark and Ali Drucker opened the Majestic Theatre in 2009. They were movie buffs who felt that the common movie-going experience was a little generic. So, they have striven to add a touch of Crested Butte fun and funkiness to the movie-going experience. Of course, you can see a blockbuster while sipping a Coke and munching on popcorn! But, if you are so inclined, you can also catch the Big Lebowski once a year while sipping a White Russian... or watch Monday Night Football in High Definition. They just like to bring people together to enjoy fine entertainment.
For you cinemaphiles out there, we can tell you that the Majestic Theatre still shows most movies on good old 35mm film. The movie you are watching was most likely built by hand, and threaded and started by a real live human! If you don't know what any of this means, feel free to ask for a projection booth tour. Or, catch our favorite film nods to the 35mm projectionist: Fight Club or Inglourious Basterds!
